By far my favorite game in the series, it improves on multiple key factors from the first game. Those being the sword play, the story, the amount of content, the size and scale of the store, the dialogue, the graphics/cinematography, and the music. First; the sword play, in ib1 there was a cap on parries, you couldnt party two quick attacks in a row reliably. This is fixed. You can also swing much-much faster, especially in the bonus section at the end of a battle. It also just feels smooth as apposed to the sometimes almost turn based sword play of ib1. Second; the story, the devs found a way to use the somewhat shallow ib1 story and expand it into what I consider an immense and interesting one (for a mobile game.)Third; The amount of content is massive in Comparison to ib1, instead of fighting a somewhat linear path toward either the deathless or the god king. This game lets you chose between multiple different ends to each rebirth. Forth; The store is at least 5 fold what it was in ib1 and if you consider the new gem system its at least 10 fold. 3 weapon classes, No awkward-sudden jump in price from one item to the next, New hidden gear, and the treasure system all contribute to the massive store. Fifth; The dialogue is in English this time around, implying a different location than the last game. This could be taken as a positive or a negative. I personally liked that it was in a different language before because I thought it fit the tone better: A dark mysterious place with hostile creatures set in an empty abandoned landscape. But regardless the dialogue is improved and I had no issues with the voice acting. Sixth; The graphics and cinematography, the graphics havent seen a drastic improvement but the camera angles and movement have seen a big step in the right direction. In ib1 there were 2 shots that I really loved and those were the shot going down the stair case to the room the deathless were in. And the shot Immediately after that going in to the room. In this game there are too many amazing master shots to count. Seventh and finally; The music, the tone of all of the tracks fits perfectly with the room there assigned to. Most of them fitting the tone I talked about earlier. I would buy the music separately if it was available. And it is, and I have. Im going to end this review with a story that took place on the fifth rebirth. I was saving up some to buy a sword but I wasnt sure what sword to buy. I knew I liked duel weapons but I wasnt sure which to buy. One that costed 52k caught my eye because it was a clear reference to an anime that I quite enjoyed called kill la kill. But at the time I had 27k and I had been saving up for 2 rebirths so it was a too expensive to wait for. I exited the menu to continue and a notification popped up for a sale on a weapon. I clicked to see what was on sale and guess what it was. A certain 52k duel wield sword was 50% off.
